Johnny qualified from the University of Gloucestershire in 2000 having studied Sports Science and Business, however instead of pursuing a career along these lines, decided to further his studies, qualifying as a physiotherapist at the University of Bradford in 2003. Johnny has since achieved post-graduate qualifications at both the University of Bradford and the University of Salford, achieving a Masters with distinction in Advancing Physiotherapy. Johnny is also fully qualified in acupuncture (AACP registered).
Johnny worked at the Bradford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to the level of Senior Physiotherapist, after which he worked for the Nuffield Hospitals in Huddersfield and Leeds, along with carrying out private clinics at local physiotherapy and sports injury clinics. In 2007 Johnny established his own clinic, Farsley Physiotherapy, which later became the Yorkshire Physiotherapy Network – one of the most highly reputable physiotherapy clinics in Leeds and Yorkshire.
Johnny has a wealth of experience working in both codes of rugby and has worked for a number of teams including Leodiensians RUFC and at a professional level for clubs such as Gateshead Thunder RLFC, Halifax RLFC, and Leeds Carnegie Rugby Union. Since 2010 Johnny has also been employed by Manchester United Football Club as the Assistant Head of Academy Physiotherapy.
Johnny enjoys maintaining his own fitness levels, regularly competing in triathlons and has completed many charity sporting events raising money for local causes.
